With Easter fast approaching, we’ve put together a guide to help you host the ultimate get-together over the bank holiday weekend. From creating a beautiful dining table display to organising some egg-citing Easter activities for the kids, we’ve got you covered with our tips…

1. Host your get-together outdoors

Now the warm spring sunshine beats down upon us all and our gardens bloom with a plethora of colourful flowers and spring wildlife, where better to host your Easter get-together than in the great outdoors itself? Make the most of the warmer weather and gather your friends and family in the garden to enjoy some fresh air. Plus, if you’ve got little ones to entertain, they’ll have the freedom to run about and release all that pent-up energy from the winter months…and from eating all that chocolate!

2. Create an Easter dining table display

It’s time to get creative. Wow your guests and make your Easter get-together a little more special by crafting your own seasonal dining table display. Our Head Gardener, Tash, suggests making use of what you can find outdoors. For inspiration, see Tash’s display pictured adjacent, where spring daffodils bloom in abundance alongside a delicate tangle of branches.

3. Organise some activities for the kids

We’ve got a few fun ways to keep the kids entertained over the weekend. Of course, staging an Easter egg hunt should be at the top of your agenda but after the final chocolate egg has been snatched up by a little hand, what next? Set up a designated arts and crafts table and keep the kids occupied with activities such as drawing their own Easter Bunny or painting polystyrene eggs with designs from their imagination. Giving the kids this time to themselves will also allow you to focus your attention on entertaining the adults.

4. Prepare an Easter feast

No social gathering would be complete without a delicious spread of food, and at Easter it’s a chance to show off your culinary skills. A staple dish over Easter is roast lamb, so check out our top tips for cooking it perfectly.

5. Give each guest an Easter egg

Before your guests leave, make sure you send them on their way with a delicious chocolate Easter egg. For the kids we recommend Choc on Choc’s Chocolate Egg & Soldiers – a nod to the quintessential British breakfast growing up. But this is egg and soldiers as you’ve never seen it before, being made entirely of chocolate! For the slightly older guests you can’t go wrong with Hotel Chocolat’s Salted Caramel Easter Egg, and if you have guests who are vegan, they needn’t miss out! We just know they’ll love Booja Booja’s Large Decorated Egg with Salted Caramel Chocolate Truffles…
