Plus, this year, we’ve teamed up with Jo Malone London who are transforming our historic mansion house with an exciting line-up of festive experiences, including wreath-making, bauble-decorating, Christmas afternoon tea and more. If you’re not staying overnight, you can still get your festive fix by enjoying a pre-Christmas lunch at The Glasshouse or at The Stables. We’ve a whole menu of mouth-watering winter warmers for you to tuck into while you catch up with loved ones.

Carols on the Hour at St. Albans Cathedral

A truly magical experience that is certain to get you into the Yuletide spirit, sing along to classic Christmas carols in the spectacular surroundings of St. Albans Cathedral. The bite-sized carol services will take place on the hour, every hour from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 14 December, making it the perfect activity to enjoy while out Christmas shopping.

Aladdin at Watford Palace Theatre

If you’ve got little ones, a pantomime at Christmas is an absolute must! From 30 November to 31 December, the stage at Watford Palace Theatre will come alive with the story of Aladdin, complete with great songs, stunning costumes, plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and Widow Twanky herself, played by Watford’s favourite Dame, Terence Frisch.

Skate at Somerset House

The ice rink at Somerset House is hailed as one of the capital’s top winter experiences, with the neoclassical courtyard transformed into a glittering winter wonderland, complete with a 40-foot Christmas tree.
